SADEV Racing Transmission is proud to announce its support for the X-RAID Team crew, composed of Mathieu Baumel and Guillaume de Mévius, to help them to be on the start line of the next Dakar edition.
The story between SADEV and the crew.
For over twenty years, X-RAID team has trusted SADEV for its transmissions on the most demanding terrains. This long-standing relationship is built on reliability and performance, two essential values to face the challenges of the Dakar.
Mathieu Baumel, a renowned co-driver with four Dakar victories, began his career in 1997 in rallying with a Peugeot 205 Rallye equipped with a SADEV gearbox and has frequently competed using our products since then. After a serious accident at the beginning of 2025, he demonstrated an exceptional determination and resilience to return to the highest level of competition. This come back inspires admiration and respect.
Guillaume de Mévius, a multiple Dakar stage winner, is the son of Grégoire de Mévius, a former official Nissan Dakar driver who raced many times during his career with SADEV gearboxes. Guillaume is also a former rally driver and is currently a favorite for the Dakar victory. He was deeply affected by Mathieu’s accident and made him a promise: “We will win the Dakar together.”
This partnership makes perfect sense, because supporting them, means helping a crew and a team that have trusted us for many years, while also enabling Mathieu Baumel to return to the top level of competition for Dakar 2026.
