Funyo Racing is a French company that designs and manufactures Funyo prototypes for motorsport, while also organizing a dedicated championship for these vehicles. Lightweight (670 kg) and high-performance (270 hp), they deliver an incredible racing experience at a controlled cost, all of that, on prestigious circuits such as Circuit Paul Ricard or the Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans.

Led by Romain Angebeau since 2018, a former design engineer at Ligier Automotive, the brand stands with a vision: To offer thrilling and financially accessible racing for drivers. The championship usually consists of 6 rounds from April to October, with around twenty cars competing each season.

For the 2026 season, the calendar is as follows:

• April 17-19 – Circuit Dijon
• May 22-24 – Circuit Paul Ricard
• June 19-21 – Circuit de Nogaro
• July 3-5 – Circuit de Magny-Cours
• September 18-20 – Circuit de Lédenon
• October 2-4 – Circuit du Val de Vienne

The company has recently expanded internationally, particularly in the United States, where the SP05 Evo is distributed to compete in the HSR by IMSA championship in both Sprint and Endurance formats.

Funyo Racing is working with SADEV since 2015. That year, they developed the SP05 Evo and chose to equip it with the SL75LW sequential gearbox.

Compact and lightweight, this transmission can handle up to 400 N.m of engine torque (295 ft-lbs). It has been engineered to deliver fast and reliable gear shifts while optimizing performance thanks to its low weight and reduced inertia. Proven across multiple disciplines such as single-seaters, circuit racing, and hill climbs, it represents, in the words of Romain Angebeau, “a true guarantee of quality and reliability.”

One of SADEV’s major strengths lies in our extensive range of gear ratios, and the SL75LW is no exception. Thanks to this flexibility, we worked closely with Funyo to define a gear set perfectly suited to the vehicle’s constraints and its use on various circuits.

The gearbox also offers great versatility: it can be operated with a mechanical lever for optimized cost, just like on the Funyo, but can also be paired with the SADEV Paddle Shift system. This system enables steering wheel-mounted shifting for enhanced performance and an even more immersive driving experience.

Manufactured in Vendée, the SADEV gearbox is combined with Peugeot’s 1.6L turbo engine from the 308 GTI (270 hp), making the car almost entirely equipped with French partners.This aligns perfectly with Funyo’s ambition, as a Le Mans-based company, to collaborate with trusted local and national players to promote French expertise.

Very satisfied with the supplier-client relationship between SADEV and Funyo Racing, and on the occasion of the final round of the 2025 calendar at Le Mans, Romain Angebeau, joined by two customer teams, Patrice Houllier (CEO of HMC Lohéac) and Jean-Christophe Robin (Driver and Team Manager at DAFA RACING), shares their feedback on our gearbox.
